A fall landscape watercolor workshop with Rebecca Peters

In this workshop Rebecca Peters will show you how to capture that warm autumn light in watercolor — painting a sunlit forest using a limited palette of colors layered together to create a glowing fall landscape.

You'll start with a step-by-step drawing of a forest of trees before building up color in a series of luminous layers to bring your painting to life. Along the way you'll learn how to work with a limited palette to achieve rich, glowing results — a technique you can return to again and again in your own practice.

This class is designed for beginner and intermediate painters, and Rebecca works with each student at their own level, making this a welcoming and encouraging experience for everyone in the room. No experience necessary — just a love of color and a curiosity for something new! Open to ages 14 and up.

All materials are provided — paint, paper, and brushes are all included. Students are welcome to bring their own brushes if they prefer.

About Rebecca Peters

Rebecca Peters is a visual artist, art educator, and curator. Her work has been shown locally and at plein air painting events in the Capital Region. She has taught art in both public and private schools along with continuing education classes, and has provided art instruction for individuals with developmental disabilities for many years. Rebecca has a background in drawing, painting, and printmaking, and her imagery ranges from abstraction to plein air landscape painting.

In Rebecca's own words:
"Teaching others about art and how to create is an opportunity to share the things I have learned and help individuals reach their fullest potential."

Rebecca cultivates a warm atmosphere where others can create together, sharing ideas and inspiration as they learn and grow as artists. Her goal is to meet each individual at their artistic level and build on their skills as they explore new techniques. We are very thankful to have her as part of our Main Street Studio community!
