Watercolor & Meditation: Paint Your Own Monet-Inspired Water Lilies

What could be better than a peaceful summer morning painting beautiful watercolor water lilies inspired by one of the most beloved artists of all time? This unique workshop combines the calming practice of guided meditation with the joy of watercolor painting for a truly restorative creative experience.

Before picking up a brush, certified meditation instructor Rebecca Hart will lead the group through a guided meditation to calm your mind and ground your energy — setting the perfect tone for a morning of creative exploration.

From there, watercolor artist and educator Rebecca Peters will guide you through creating two small watercolor paintings inspired by Claude Monet's iconic Water Lilies series. You'll start by exploring color and practicing wet-on-wet techniques on small test sheets, then practice adding the shapes of water lilies to your composition before moving into your finished paintings. Both Rebeccas will demonstrate techniques step by step and work with each student individually throughout the session.

This workshop is designed for beginner and intermediate painters — no experience necessary, just a love of color and a curiosity for something new!

All materials included — paint, paper and brushes are all provided.

About Rebecca Peters:

Rebecca Peters is a visual artist, art educator, and curator. Her work has been shown locally and at plein air painting events in the Capital Region. She has taught art in both public and private schools along with continuing education classes, and has provided art instruction for individuals with developmental disabilities for many years. Rebecca has a background in drawing, painting, and printmaking, and her imagery ranges from abstraction to plein air landscape painting.

Rebecca cultivates a warm atmosphere where others can create together, sharing ideas and inspiration as they learn and grow as artists.
