March - Beginner Watercolor Series

This series of three watercolor classes are a perfect introduction to transparent watercolors with painter and art educator, Rebecca Peters.  Students will learn wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques using a limited palette. Rebecca will demonstrate techniques and subjects at the beginning of each session, and then help students develop finished paintings during each two hour session. Projects include still life, birds and landscapes. 

Students are welcome to bring their own brushes if they wish, but not necessary. Paint, paper and brushes will all be supplied. 

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to use transparent watercolors, or ready to dust off your brushes and get some creative inspiration, join us for this introductory class. Learn the basics in person! Rebecca supports each student at their artist level and facilitates a warm working environment.

No experience necessary and young artists are welcome!

About Rebecca Peters:

Rebecca Peters is a visual artist, an art educator and curator. Her work has been shown locally and at plein air painting events in the Capital Region. She has taught art in both public and private schools along with continuing education classes. She has also provided art instruction for individuals with developmental disabilities for many years. Rebecca has a background in drawing, painting and printmaking. Her imagery ranges from abstraction to plein air - landscape painting. 

“Teaching others about art and how to make pieces is an opportunity to share the things I have learned and help individuals reach their fullest potential”. 

Rebecca cultivates a warm atmosphere where others can create together sharing ideas and inspiration as they learn and grow as artists.  Her goal is to meet each individual at their artistic level and build on skills while they work on pieces and explore techniques.
