Renee Johnson

Indigo Shibori Patterns

Regular price $48.00 USD
Regular price Sale price $48.00 USD

Spend the morning experiencing the magic of indigo and learning traditional Japanese fabric dyeing techniques known as “Shibori”. Renee Johnson, textile artist and Japanese craft instructor, will share several methods for folding and stitching fabric to create intricate patterns set against a rich indigo blue color.

In this three hour workshop, you will start with learning a “water ripple” folding technique on a 24” bandanna. Once you get that cloth soaking in the indigo, you will then get to practice more intricate folding and stitching techniques on a 28” hand towel.

This is a great class if you are new to dyeing fabrics with indigo and if you have taken this class before with Renee, or have some experience with tie-dying, this class is also a good opportunity to try different techniques. Renee has a beautiful collection of fabrics and books to inspire you and all types of supplies and guidance for you to create different patterns.
