Spend the day with local artisan, Patricia Brousseau, weaving a cute wall hanging basket to hold summer flowers from one of our local flower growers. In this four-hour workshop you will learn how to weave rattan reed and using basketry tools to achieve the final shape.
This particular basket pattern will be a continuous weave that has a diagonal pattern woven into it. It will have a sturdy rim and a handle that gets built right from the spokes themselves. The basket is sized perfect to hold a recycled two-liter bottle that will hold soil and an annual flowering plant. Basket materials, potting soil and locally grown flowers to add to your basket are all included in the workshop!
This course is intended for young adult/adult beginners to intermediate basket weavers. Previous basket weaving experience is optional.
