Learn the sculptural and stress relieving art of needle felting while celebrating the little things that make our shared traditions so special… ornaments! Whether your ornaments hang on “Charlie Brown Tree” like ours, or dangle around your doorways and dining room chandeliers, ornaments help brighten the dark winter months.
In this two-hour workshop, contemporary fiber artist, Mallory Zondag, will show us how to create bold patterns and swirling colors using some of our hand-dyed local sheep wool! You’ll start with a recycled foam form and layer on thin layers of wool to sculpt a lovely little ornament to brighten your space, or give as a special gift.
We’ll have an opportunity to talk about sourcing and processing wool, natural dyeing and the role felting can play in contemporary artists’ work. This will be a fun class with lots of room for creativity, experimentation and good conversations! There are two session times to pick from, an afterschool time and a later evening time. We hope you can make one of the classes!
