I wrote a book called "Climbing to New Heights." It's a well documented story about my journey through the Adirondack Fire Tower Challenge. When I was 11, a model of a fire tower at a state fair changed my life forever. I didn’t know it yet, but this would later inspire me to complete the Adirondack Fire Tower Challenge. In Climbing to New Heights, I have masterfully detailed each of my ascents to 23 summits in the Adirondack and Catskills Mountains. Along the way, I've discovers both the beauty of nature and how quickly it can be destroyed by time, vandalism, or lack of funds for preservation. Each chapter is filled with vivid imagery of the scenic trails peppered with unique state history and witty commentary by me. This memoir is both an inspiring tale of perseverance and a plea to preserve these historic structures. By the end, the reader will feel like they hiked each mountain alongside the author.
