Makers of music! Join us on Friday, June 7th for a special performance by Charlton’s own “StudioBlue” jazz & swing music ensemble as part of our “Charlton Makes!” showcase.

StudioBlue is a collaborative effort started in February of 2021 by Jay Mosier (Trombone) and Chris Alsdorf (Trumpet), both residents of Charlton. Returning to their musical roots, the majority of the group's musical literature is comprised of “Mid-Century West Coast Swing” and “Cool Era Jazz” and features many original arrangements from the Dave Pell Octet, and other notable composers such as Art Farmer, Duke Pearson, Sammy Nestico, and Henry Mancini to name a few.

The vision of Mosier and Alsdorf was to recreate and perform that mid-century vibe and offer the group members an opportunity to contribute creatively to that end. The octet consists of a horn line (Trumpet, Tenor & Bari Sax and Trombone) and rhythm section (Keyboard, Guitar, Bass and Percussion) featuring seasoned musicians from around the Capital District performing jazz standards, show tunes, latin, funk, bossa, swing and blues genres. Come join us for an evening of “big band” sound and help us celebrate the talent right here in our “small town” community!

This event is free, with no advanced tickets necessary.
