Introduction to botanical eco-printing

Eco-printing is a natural dyeing technique that creates beautiful botanical prints on fabric from live or dried plants. In this three-hour workshop, join local artist Maeve Kane to create two botanically printed tea towels--keep one and give one as a gift!

Learn the process of preparing the fabric, selecting and arranging local plants for color, and then steaming the material to make a lasting imprint on fabric using two different techniques.

Maeve has a wealth of knowledge about local plants and natural dyeing techniques and will share many examples of what you can create on your own using materials you can find right in your own backyards or kitchens! Additional materials will be available for sale after the workshop if you want to continue printing at home.
