As expeditioners working across different places, times, and aspects of the journey, we'll need ways to stay connected, share findings, and ask questions of the group. We're providing the following tools to get us started:
- Registration. By registering, we know you're out there and ready to participate. This is how you become an expeditioner. If you haven't, register here. It's free and the only thing required is curiosity.
- Blog posts. You're reading one now. They are grouped together here. We'll create a post for each major event in the expedition. This will be a resource for others to follow even after the expedition is over.
- Discord. Discord is a free, real-time messaging app. It's an invite-only online community built around this expedition. You can post here and see and contribute to the posts of others. You'll receive an invite after you register.
- YouTube. When practical, we'll film what's happening and post it on the Main Street Studio YouTube channel. We'll also post videos you shoot if you share it with us. In this way, new folks can join in after the expedition has started, and have all the context they need.
- Permission forms & clay location details. We ask that you always seek permission before accessing any land that is not your own. Use this land access request form to explain the program and the ask for the landowner.* Use this clay sample details sheet to record information when digging!
- Your skills, experience and curiosity. It doesn't matter what they are. You have something no one else has. It might be a bit of obscure knowledge, land with a clay source, or a connection to someone who might. You might hold a missing piece of the puzzle in terms of history, geology, excavation, building, firing. Something you know or can do will become important to the expedition!
* Note, any activities that happen outside of Main Street Studio's location in Charlton are done at your own risk. Please be responsible, respectful and careful!
